You will be responsible to know your local building code to ensure that you are in compliance.
For instance:
Some building codes call for 1-way screws.  The screws included are NOT 1-way screws.
So, IF your code requires 1-way screws you will need to purchase them at your local hardware store
OR drill out the slots on the screws after they have been installed.
Some codes require an upper window stop to keep the bottom of the window from being 4-1/2" or more from the top of the bars.
So, IF you install these bars 4-1/2" from the bottom sill and your bottom sash is more than 26" tall, you may need to install a stop.
