This is an antique advertising wall hanging thermometer from the Marshall & Co. Reliable Cleaners in Mason City, Iowa. You will note that it is missing the glass bulb and stem part and is just the composition material advertising back or mounting portion. I was going to try to find a suitable thermometer from the era that I could attach but decided to just let the new owner do that if they wanted. Still a neat old local advertising piece and I would think a replacement stem and bulb could be found. The word "Cleaners" looks like it is "Gleaners" but it is a C and not a G. Requests for rugs and drapes at the bottom. I would guess this to be from the 1920's era. Phone no. at the time was 789. Black paper covering composition or cardboard type material is in quite good condition overall with just a little loss at edges of the facein couple spots and most of the black paper that wraps around the edge is missing on the thin edges. Couple minor creases but overall pretty nice shape except for the missing part. The printing and temperature scale markings are all in good, readable condition. Instructions are printed on the back. Size is 2-7/8" x 11".
