We believe this is the last brand new factory CDS-3 compressor available anywhere!
This is a factory-new compressor for the Bunn CDS-3 frozen beverage machine.  This compressor includes the thermal overload protector and retainer, the electrical terminal cover and gasket and retainer.  This unit is designed for 404-A refrigerant.  Bunn no longer offers this compressor for sale (CDS-3 is "Obsolete"), and this is the last one we have.
The Bunn frozen beverage machines are hearty and reliable beasts -- they do a great job, are easy to use, easy to maintain and repair and will last for years and years.  But eventually the compressor will give out.  Remember that parts for the CDS-3 are considered obsolete by Bunn, so you know your machine has had many years and thousands of hours of use.  These compressors are so hearty that Bunn gave the original purchaser of these machines a five year compressor warranty.
Installation of this compressor requires an EPA-certified refrigerant technician to recover the refrigerant in the system, cut out the old compressor, silver-solder the copper refrigerant tubing into the new compressor, pull a vacuum on the refrigerant system to insure the system is sealed and to remove contaminants, and then recharge with the proper amount of new 404-A refrigerant.  We recomend you also install a new filter/dryer (available in our store).
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING:
Shipping compressors can be more involved than other parts for this machine.  Unlike other sellers we understand the complexities of compressors.  Aside from the heavy weight (which often causes damage when it is dropped by "Mongo" the shipping artist), compressors like this are pre-charged with lubricating oil and must be kept upright to prevent the oil from migrating into the wrong part of the compressor.  It is virtually impossible to send this through FedEx/UPS/USPS guaranteeing it will remain upright throughout the trip.  Ideally a compressor should be strapped to a pallet and shipped via truck to insure it remains upright and undamaged.  This can be a bit expensive.  Many technicians are OK shipping via regular ground and letting the compressor sit for a day or two to let the majority of the oil migrate back to its proper place.  Unless we hear from you, we will ship via UPS as noted in the instructions.  If you contact us and advise that you want the compressor ship via freight, we will obtain your location information and then send you the shipping cost for using freight (which will be greater than UPS).
