    Description

    Calcite fluorescent mineral, Sterling Hill Mine near Franklin NJ.  Large hand-sized specimen of calcite matrix, with minor willemite, veins of pyrochroite, and minor spots of sphalerite. Fluorescent red and green in shortwave UV light; red, green, some orange and blue in longwave UV.  Note though, most of that dark blue is reflected UV light.


    Big cabinet specimen, measures 7 1/4 inches x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, and weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces.
