This is a very nice amethyst carnival glass ruffled bowl featuring the pattern
    "EMBROIDERED MUMS"
made by the Harry C. Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia, circa 1908.  The back pattern is "
    Ribbed."
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  The iridescence is rich with lots of gold-bronzes, blue-greens and purples.  The complicated, intricate pattern is very well-articulated and unmarred. There are the usual internal air bubbles and straw marks (shearing tool marks) commonly associated with the hand manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent glass.  Each piece of old carnival glass is unique, no two are exactly alike.
A really great find, great gift.
