    Description

    The Midnight Owl Mine is now closed, but privately owned by an individual who is trying to reclaim pieces of eucryptite.  The mine is located in Yapapai County, Arizona, north and west of Phoenix.
    We ground down the front & back faces, plus one edge, of this specimen to remove a non-fluorescent coating and expose much more of the eucryptite to UV rays.  See daylight photos #5 & 6.
    Under short wave lamp the eucryptite glows a
    gorgeous cherry red
    with great coverage on multiple faces (photos #1-4).
    Weighs 9.8 oz. & measures 3.0 x 2.875 x 1.375 inches (#Euc-07).
