    Hi from Sweden,
I am very glad and proud that I, with my dear colleges and friends, can share with the world such incredibly rare and unusual minerals from Scandinavia, particularly Sweden. Additionally, I offer uncommon minerals from other parts of world.
Instead of having these minerals locked somewhere in scientific institutions, universities or museums there is an uncommon opportunity to share and circulate them within the general public.
Since the Middle Ages, there has been commercial mining in Sweden, but many mines are already closed or going to be closed, so that it is harder and harder to get minerals
Scandinavia, particularly Sweden, has an incredible diverse and long geological history. The oldest rocks in Sweden date to the
    Archean
Eon, more than 2.7 billion years ago. Through the
    Paleoproterozoic
    to
Mesozoic eras there were many outflows of deep Earth materials resulting in an incredible richness of minerals found today.
    Just around L
    å
ngban City there were found over 300 different minerals, WOW!. Even today, totally new minerals are still found previously unknown to science, like
    Joesmithite
No other place on Earth has such diversity of minerals in such a relatively small area.
The main two groups of minerals which I offer are
    rare-earth element (REE)*
    minerals and
    fluorescent minerals
    .
    *
The former ones are found around the world in exceptionally low concentration, and the crystals are only visible under the microscope.
Not here! In Sweden you can find
    all fifteen
    lanthanides
    ,
    as well as
    scandium
    and
    yttrium
    .
Minerals could be the size of boulders!
Sweden is the true World Capitol of the REE minerals!
Sweden also has an unbelievable number of different fluorescent minerals, many of them found nowhere else.
While the East Coast of the USA is the World Capitol for the quantity of fluorescent minerals,
Scandinavia is the World Capitol for the diversity of fluorescent minerals.
It is due to the amount, type and range of activators of
    fluorescence
. Natural, widespread thorium and uranium as trace elements are additional boosters of fluorescence.
As a result, you can actually find here fluorescent quartz, which typically is not fluorescent. In the case of common fluoride, the Swedish fluoride is rare because it is formed commonly on the acidic matrix, and has an unusual colour of glowing white or yellow, then typical blue colour.
Additionally, from time to time I offer some super rare thorium and uranium minerals for very specialized collectors.
