    Description

    Up for auction is this Reuter Organ Company 4' Pedal Choral Bass middle c sample pipe.  Sample pipes are voiced for a specific organ and then all other pipes of that rank are matched for voicing to that sample pipe.  The sample pipe is not used in the organ.  This pipe is marked C, 57 Ch Bass, 1/4.  The 1/4 refers to the cut up of the mouth of the pipe and the 57 is the scale of the pipe.  Pipe is made of about 50% tin, 50% lead and a bit of antimony for hardening of the alloy.   Pipe plays but care should be taken when blowing by mouth since lead can cause medical issues.  Pipe is about 18 1/2" long.
